Q? - What is
"Eloping" or a Destination Wedding?
A.
A destination wedding is when a couple decides
to travel to a special place for their special day, in a setting away
from their hometown, usually where the honeymoon and wedding is
celebrated in the same venue and is often times cheaper than at your
hometown - but depends on your guest list-. It may be just the two of
you (also known as eloping!), or you may include a group of friends
and family to celebrate your wedding. It's an appealing option if you
want to do something different and unique as opposed to the
traditional wedding back home.

toasting and celebrating the beginning of two people becoming one. The

waterfall, villa or gazebo setting to the processing of documents and
marriage officiate, to the beautiful indigenous floral bouquet and the
nicely decorated wedding cake, all has been readily arranged by your
destination wedding planner to suit your taste and budget. After the
wedding ceremony, you won't have to leave this breathtakingly
beautiful location so soon…... if you choose to have your honeymoon in
the picture perfect location, its all yours to indulge.

Q? - Do we bring
Guest's along?
A.
Guest's are optional, having guest at your wedding will distinguish
between the "traditional elopement - of you and groom" and a
destination wedding.

Destination Weddings Cheaper?
A.
Having a destination weddings may be
cheaper than the traditional one, but this will depend on your
location venue and your guest list, for large group weddings we offer
special packages on accommodations for groups of ten rooms or more and
can help you negotiate on airfare discounts.

Destination Wedding?
A.
The primary reasons a couple choose a destination weddings is to save
money and avoid the hassle and stress of planning details and without
a reasonable doubt to have a memorable and unique wedding, besides a
wonderful location, you can add local cultural traditions to give some
excitement and uniqueness to you wedding day celebration.

Q? - What is
required to be married in Jamaica?
A.
In
Jamaica, we do not expect you to do a blood test, below are the simple
requirements in order to legally tie the knot.
*Notarized or Original Copies of
Couples Birth Certificates.
*Divorce Decree if applicable
*Death Certificate if widow or
widower
*Photo ID, passport of drivers
license
* Witnesses ( which is
provided if not is available)
*Notarized Translation of
Documents to English that are in a different language
These
documents can be faxed or scanned and emailed to us, we do not need
your original documents as they will not be returned.

Q? - How long will
I have to wait before I can be married Jamaica?
A.
A couple can be married
within 24 hours after arriving on the Island, given that the documents
are processed before your arrival.

Q? - I am arriving
by Cruise Ship, can I still get married and have time to do
other excursions?
A.
Yes, arriving by cruise ship you can still get married, given we
receive your documents prior to your arrival to process the marriage
license and relevant documents, the ceremony usually last 30 -45
minutes and the wedding location is 5 -15 minutes away from the cruise
ship port, so immediately after your wedding, you will still have time
to do tours like Dunn's River Falls ect.

Q? - How far in
advance do you need to obtain the documents?
A Documents are
required 30 days prior to your wedding date, however, a 7 day minimum
is accepted for last minutes wedding.

Q? - How far in
advance do we need to reserve a date for our wedding?
A As soon as
you decide on your date and time, its best to reserve, which will
require a DEPOSIT, this will confirm both date, time and location.

Q? - Who will
process the documents and the the Marriage License before we
arrive?
A.
Tropical Weddings
Jamaica will initiate all legal processing of documents prior to your
arrival in Jamaica, all you need to do is be here to pledge your
eternal love, we will handle the rest.

Q? - We want to be
married on a weekend or possibly a public holiday, Is this possible?
A.
Yes, If you book your wedding with Tropical Weddings Jamaica, you can
be married on any day "sunday-sunday" you choose, based on
availability and time
However, if you book
your wedding though your hotel, they have strict policies that
restricts you from getting married on a weekend and on public
holidays........So if you want to reserve a specific time and date for
whatever reasons, contact tropical weddings to plan your off-property
wedding and we will guarantee you a space with no limitations.

Q? - How long
after the wedding will we receive our marriage certificates?
A.
Immediately after the wedding a copy of the marriage certificate is
issued, the original will be mailed within six to eight (6-8) weeks subsequent
the wedding.

Q? - Can we book
accommodations or villa with Tropical Weddings for both our guest and
ourselves ?
A
Yes, tropical weddings will book and confirm you hotel accommodations
as well as villa rental for you and your wedding guest.

Q? - Do you only
do wedding packages in Jamaica ?
A
Yes, we are located in Jamaica and for that reason, introduces our
beautiful island to our brides, for locations in Ocho Rios, Montego
Bay and Negril, your imagination is the only limit.

Q? - What kind of
locations can we expect?
A
We have a variety of locations to choose from, Unspoiled White Sand
Beaches, Exhilarating Waterfalls, Beautiful Exotic Gardens, Lush Green
Beachfront Garden and the Traditional Churches are some of the Venue
available outside of your hotel grounds...all locations are suitable
for both wedding ceremony and a reception for your wedding guest.

Q? - Is it better
to book with a Wedding Planning Company than Directly with a Hotel?
A
Booking your wedding with a Wedding Planning Company will allow you
the opportunity to tailor make your package to suit your need and
budget, you will not be limited to any restrictions and you get
to decide what you want and not what is available to you.
Your wedding planner
will listen to your every need and get you the best possible rates
available.

possible to arrange a wedding within a couple of days or weeks for our
wedding.
A
If you are
getting married outside of the resort where you are staying, we
can definitely assist you with last-minute planning. The individual
Resorts in Jamaica, require that all of the legal documents to
apply for your marriage license must be at the resort at least 30-45
days prior to your arrival. If you are being married at one of our
off-property locations, we can certainly assist you with last minute
requests, given you are able to forward all of your legal
documents (such as copies of Birth Certificates or Passports and
Divorce Decrees, if applicable), to our office.

Q? - Do you offer
FREE WEDDINGS?
A
Unfortunately we do not offer free weddings, however from time to time
we do have specials on packages and discounts.

services do you offer?
A
We offer, Document processing, Videograpy on VHS or DVD and Photography services to capture
your every moment, floral arrangements, complete decorating of wedding
and reception, gown rentals, reception, wedding accessories and Tours/Excursions...
all aspects of your wedding you could possibly think about.

Q? - Why should we
hire a Wedding Planner?
A
Because you are planning a destination wedding outside your hometown
abroad, its best to get someone who know the place best, who can
recommend and make suggestions for your weddings, who will handle all
the legal processing of the documents and ensure everything is in top
shape before your arrival, after all, you do not want to deal with the
stress of it, instead leave the planning to us, as long as you say
yes, we will do the rest.

Q? - What legal
documents do I need to be able to Travel To Jamaica?
A You are
required to travel with an original Birth Certificate (containing a
raised seal), or an original Passport. Otherwise, you are required to
have a certified copy of your Birth Certificate, which also must
contain a raised seal. Along with this legal document, you are
required to carry a state-issued photo I.D., such as a driver's
license. If you have further questions regarding your documents,
please consult your wedding/travel coordinator.

Q? - Is a Jamaican
Wedding Legal in the US, UK, CANADA and the rest of the world?
A Yes, all
marriages organized in Jamaica are legally binding, you can use your
marriage certificates to transact any business that may require its
use .This license stands alone as your legal marriage document. You do
not need to file anything with the courts in the U.S. for validation
of this marriage license.

rains on my wedding day?
A If there is a
possibility if showers on your wedding day, at the off-property
locations, we have indoor locations on reserve to use, also if you
would prefer a particular location, we may change the date and time to
ensure you still have your "Dream" Wedding.

Q? - How far in
advance should we book our wedding?
A We usually
book weddings 4 - 6 months or even 1 year prior to your wedding date, for larger
weddings and catering we we recommend 6-9 months in advance
(none the less, we do accept last minute wedding) .

Q? - How do I get
started in booking my wedding with Tropical Weddings?
A To book your wedding date with us, simply fill out the
wedding
Booking
Form and submit to us, along with your
$300 none-refundable deposit that will be required to secure your wedding
date, time , location, minister and marriage license . The
balance on your wedding is due as per the payment schedule you will
receive with a detailed invoiced, the final payment will
become due 60days prior to your wedding date.

Q? - Is there a
limit to the number of guest we may bring?
A No, there is
no limit on the number of guest, but the locations you choose may vary
depending on the size of your wedding, there is usually an entrance
fee or additional guest sur-charge for additional guest depending on
the venue.
